With Christmas and the New Year Celebrations out of the way
it is time for me, as well as the Boys, to get back to our routine.
This, for us, is usually based around our Home School.
I know through the different types and styles of Home
Schooling that everyone does it differently but I always enjoy having at least
topics to explore even if the Boys lead their way through them.
With this in mind I thought I would share with you some of
the topics that we are covering this term!
Literacy and
Numeracy
Literacy and Numeracy will continue as normal and I will be
honest and say that, as of yet, we don’t have a main theme for literacy; like
we had last term of Fairy Tales. Any suggestions here would be greatly
appreciated!
Science
Our Science topic is going to be rather mixed this term. We
are going to look at ourselves, our growth and being healthy. Hopefully within
this we will crossover a few PSHE topics of Bullying, falling out with others
as well as consent of others.
Art and Design
Our topic this term will be vehicles and moving mechanisms.
So I am hoping there will be lots of craft and creation with these!
Animals
Every term we have chosen a topic that covers the care of
animals. I am hoping we can, again, crossover with Science and look at growth
of animals, especially with us entering Spring.
There will also be the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch which we
thoroughly enjoyed taking part in last year and hopefully we will try and
involve some of you in this topic too!
Geography and
History
We are going to look at Rivers and Coastlines and hopefully
when it warms up more visit some of the different types that we will find. (You
can never go wrong with some seaside trips!)
So here are some of the topics that we will be covering and
I know that I am already looking forward to this term.
For the other Home schoolers, what do you have planned this
term?
what a good list of projects , will you be off to the transport museum
ReplyDeleteThanks Claire. Yes, that is the plan. There's a few things we'll do with transport too...lots of different types of museums with that.
