It's been a while since I last posted but I thought it would be a good idea to sum up my year.
2013 started off a little rough, I was still mourning my mum deeply and was only a month or so out of hospital, where I spent time after suffering a nervous breakdown. My time with the boys was limited and the divorce was getting messy.
I was concentrating on getting myself back on my feet. In doing so I was spending a lot of me time trying to work out who I was again.
I put a lot more effort into the time I spent with the boys knowing it was limited.
This carried on for a while, you know how it is day in day out, surviving. My only big change is that I got a little westie puppy called Samson, who has grown into a lovely little dog and friend.
Spent a lovely couple of weeks with my aunt and uncle and started to feel a lot better.
Piano was going well and kept me out of trouble. I was honoured to teach my other aunt and uncle, which ultimately has formed a better relationship with them. And they're doing really well.
The divorce started turning in my favour and my time with the boys became better. And from August I once again had 50/50 access. Things continued to go well and I enjoyed a great week at Detling summer conference.
William started school in September, which he loves and seems to be thriving, although I find the whole school run thing difficult. James continued with nursery but it was great to see him grow and experience a social life as well as being excited to see me pick him up.
I on the other hand went bankrupt, but in fairness this has been a weight off my mind and financially things seem to be good now.
I had the pleasure in November to be bestman, my first time, at one of my best friends wedding. Was truly a wonderful day.
Christmas was busy, hectic and hard but all worth it.
My health still troubles me but it's something that you can learn to accept at times.
God still blesses my life and I am grateful to Him for lots. He has helped me unspeakably turn my life back around.
All in all 2013 has been a good year. And I'm sure 2014 will be as challenging yet rewarding as its predecessor.
My only regret this year is seeing my friends very little, but I believe that's a normal yearly regret.
All in all a good year. I hope and pray you all have a fantastic 2014!
Martyn
