Well that was until last week.
It was James’ birthday last week and although we spent a
lovely day at the park Mother Nature decided to suddenly trick us and a sunny
day quickly turned to heavy rain, wind and thick hail.
What could we, my friend and her nephew, do to remedy this?
Well we thought that the best thing was a milkshake in the café.
Obviously being his birthday there was one main goal for
him; to get his birthday cake!
Of course this was the case, how many 4 year old boys focus
on anything else?!
All the way through the day every other word that came out
of his mouth was “Birthday Cake”.
So there we are back in the café enjoying our Milkshakes
when just like the rest of the day James was, of course, discussing birthday
cake. He had mentioned it at least 4 times within a space of a minute.
My Friend: “James do you think that you could say
Birthday cake anymore times?”
(James at this point rolled his eyes, did a deep sigh and
placed his hands out in an open book position)
James: “I could write you a book?!”
O.K. he hasn’t long turned 4,
especially considering that it was his birthday but still my friend got told! Let’s
just remember here that he is only young and not a teenager; I might hibernate
through those years!
William
William has always surprised me with his intelligence when
it comes to humour. There are times when he is extremely quick witted, as you
may have noticed from a previous post when he joked about the Fab bin.
(I will point out though that he also has a humour that you
would expect from a 6 year old boy, something that I will be covering in a
different post)
On picking the boys up this week we had the normal fussing
on getting into the car. This usually happens and it is normally surrounded by
some ‘toy’ related problem. “Mummy can you get this toy” etc.
This week was no different. All seemed to be going well when
the boys Mum said:
“I really don’t know why James has a toy crab and a pair of handcuffs
but apparently the crab is under arrest”
At this point you see the smirk on Williams face and he
raises his hand.
William: “It’s because he was giving it all that!”
(Then comes the pincer/hand movement)
Genius, it had me giggling away for a while. P.s. For anyone wondering, yes James did get his cake!
I read this earlier from the link on facebook, but still love the clever crab joke: good man! #ftmob
ReplyDeleteHaha thanks Helena. Got to love his humour!
DeleteLol, these are brilliant! Love the funny things your boys come out with - they really make me chuckle. I wonder where they picked up those two sayings from? So funny. Thank you for sharing with #ftmob :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Louise. No idea where they get them from. William from a young age has always noticed certain things and been rather witty with what he comes out with. James, well that child is a complete mystery so I have no idea!
DeleteBrilliant - love Williams sense of humour! Your kids are always belting out funnies :) #ftmob
ReplyDeleteHaha thanks Lisa!
