Week 1 #40DayBloggingChallenge

For my regular readers you will know that during Lent instead of giving something up I will be taking up a blogging challenge that will spread some love.

The week has started well but the first week is always the easiest as it is only 4 days long!

So here we are to highlight the bloggers I have featured this week.

Day 1

I decided that I would start the challenge with one of my favourite blogs to read! Budget Food Mummy is a blogger that primarily writes recipes and meal planning that are affordable, healthy and nutritious whilst being on a budget! She does all this as well as being a parent, so you will see a few parenting posts thrown in too! You can find her on Twitter as @budgetfoodmummy

A favourite recent post from her is here: Will my Children know we struggled to feed them?

A great post that outlines history of her growing up, to being and adult and then being a mum. She highlights how her parents would have struggled and how she would struggle too. A great post and a good read.

Day 2

Well this blogger was a given to be featured at some point! Plutonium Sox is one of my all time favourite bloggers (I know we are not meant to have favourites but we all secretly do!)

Natalie is a freelance writer, blogger and a full time mum (I think she might be crazy!) Plutonium Sox is a Parenting, Travel and Lifestyle blog which is clearly evident within her writing. Apart from her humour, which comes across in her posts if you are a regular reader, (always see her unique disclosure at the bottom of some of her posts) I also love how ethical Natalie and her family are and how it is conveyed in her posts! You can find her on Twitter as @plutoniumsox

My favourite recent post from here is here: A day in the life of a dangerous dog!

It highlights a few points. The first it shows Natalie's sense of humour and wit. The second is that it highlights a day of a dog that really gets a lot of bad press; so is a good read to help break that view point.

Day 3

On day 3 I featured a blogger that is not only a regular reader here but also someone that I have a lot of time for. Cupcake Mumma, aka Hannah, is a blogger who, like me, writes about a broad range of topics. Cooking, Mental Health, Parenting and everything in between. Apart for my love of her being a fellow hermit and book lover she writes honestly about what is happening; something that I have a lot of respect for. You can find her on Twitter as @cupcakemumma11

My favourite recent post from her is here: A request from Midge

This is a post that makes you think as a blogger as well as a parent. Hannah's daughter Midge, 8, can come to the conclusion that she no longer wants to feature not only on the schools site but also on the blog. It shows real maturity to come to that decision; something that I will keep in mind when the boys are older.

Day 4

Before we come to day 4 I had made a deal that each week I would feature a blogger that I haven't read before and a Dad blogger. So with one day left I decided to do both!

On this day I featured You the Daddy. He is a new dad blogger on the scene and is writing about conception, through pregnancy and beyond with the added feature that he will try and supply advice for Dads to be.

Now I will be honest and I know very little about him! That doesn't mean that I don't want to. I always like to see new bloggers and with that new dad bloggers to jump into this writing business. You can find him on Twitter as @youthedaddy

Amongst the few posts that he has published I have chosen a favourite: Life as an impatient Dad in waiting

Quite simply the feelings and facts of a dad that hasn't quite reached the stage where he can see clear signs that they are, in fact, pregnant. No morning sickness (yet), not quite ready for the their first scan (yet) but with the waiting the fear has started to set in!

So that's week one on the Challenge. If you haven't read or found any of the bloggers featured then please go and hunt them out! Especially if you find time to read the posts that I have featured!

If you want to see who I am featuring day by day then you can find it with the tag #40DayBloggingChallenge or you can come back next week and see the round-up!
