Searching for my siblings

I was born under a different name. I was born as Daniel Lee Sexton, in 1982.

I was adopted in 1983, after being in several foster families.

Some time ago I was in search of my siblings and have come to a blank, yet recently they have been playing more and more on my mind, so thought this would be a good way of putting an online record to show that I was searching for them.

Since I was 14 I have suffered from health issues, at the age of 25 I was diagnosed, for the second time, with a condition called FSHD a form of muscular dystrophy, on the verge of having my first son my heritage started playing on my mind, especially as this condition is known to be hereditary.

When I opened my adoption file, I found records for other siblings, and for me, this was a chance to help others, help my siblings through issues that they might have.

I found that I had a brother and two sisters.

My brother is called Nicky Sean Sexton/Gowthorpe (at birth) and was born on the 12th December 1983, to Alexandra Sexton and Malcolm Gowthorpe.

My eldest sister was born as Samantha Louise Sexton/Gowthorpe on 11th October 1985 to the same parents as Nicky.

My youngest sister is called Natasha Marie Sexton/Gowthorpe and was born on 16th May 1988.

These three, through the records I have required, went through horrors in their childhood, what I can only see as an extension of what I had to go through.

What I do know is this; These three were put into care in 1989 to a fosterer called Mrs Brown, and through this time had contact with Alexandra Sexton, until October 1991. At this point they were fostered out of the county into the Derbyshire area, I believe Sheffield, and were officially adopted in September 1993.

Natasha was adopted separately, but am aware that the three children had contact with each other.

Going through their records, I found some similarities, the elder two went to the same primary school as I did for a short period of time, and therefore would have possibly seen each other playing, talking or working.

I am aware that Samantha showed that she had health issues, was partially deaf and had eye sight problems, but also showed signs and symptoms of "stickler syndrome" which I now believe could have been aspects of early onset FSHD.

I am aware now that if they had been adopted that the likelihood would be that they have changed their names, if anything because of their ages their last names. I am also aware that the eldest two, after adoption, were both baptised, but again I am unsure of the baptism that took place, but my assumptions are that they were baptised under their new names.

I have been given photos of the three children, and can see a family resemblance, especially between myself and my two children.

I know it must be difficult to read this, if you know them, or are these people, but please know all I want to do is make a connection and help where I can, unlocking the key attributes to the health patterns would help future diagnosis for ourselves and for future generations. I, having a different father, have made contact with him. I have also made contact with our mother Alexandra, however, through talking a few times communication fell through years ago and haven't heard from her since. I am now solely searching for these three with hope that they too would be looking for some answers.

I hope and pray that someone, somewhere, might have some answers, clues or help for me. But directly to my siblings now, I am sorry for all the things you had to go through and that we couldn't be united through all of it. Please know that for the past 5 years I have tried every means possible, except intermediary, to find you. I hope one day, you will also look, find this, and know that I am waiting for you when you are ready.
