Social Anxiety

Over recent years I have been developing social anxiety.

I have always had some underlining anxiety in social situations like parties and entering big groups of people but over the last few years, and even more so this last 6 months, it has been getting worse.

Recently though it has been affecting me more on a one to one basis.

Couple of months back I decided to start dating again and quickly signed up to a dating site.

On there I've found a range of women and often through small amounts of messages you can quickly assess the ones who you click with and the ones you don't.

Now if you remember a few weeks ago I posted about my second date and me falling over. If you missed it you can find it by searching falling in love? On this blog.

I stated then that after falling over I doubted that I would get another date. Well I was wrong and got some more.

The problem I face is that my social anxiety has got in the way. I haven't made any "move" on her from a good night kiss to holding hands.

On our last date we went to the cinema and I went to hold her hand but I moved then froze. My heart was racing and I stopped before I ended up having a panic attack.

Since then I've felt like I've mucked up. Although am unsure if this is in my head or not. But one thing I do know is I'm moving myself from potential  date to friend zone because of it. Which is a shame because the more I talk and spend time with her the more interested I am.

I just need to get past it.

Do any of my readers suffer from social anxiety? If so how do you cope? Would love, as always, to hear your suggestions.

**Just an update**
1: Anxiety started really getting in the way.
2: It wasn't in my head and did kind of muck up and moved to friend zone.

Subsequently through discussing with this person about it all really made point 1 worse.
But will try to do a blog post on it soon.

I'd panic in this situation. I don't even have any advice to offer coz I'd be the same as you. Xx
