10 Years

This week marks 10 years since I became a teacher so thought I would mark the event with this post.

When I was younger I had always wanted to grow up to be either a Dad or an Artist. 2 things that to be honest wasn't exactly the biggest goals or targets. If you had told me I would become a teacher I would have thought you were crazy.

Looking back I have had some great jobs doing it. Specialist ICT, Music and Art teacher within Primary ages. Year 1 and 2 teacher.  Department head in those subjects. I have worked in a school as head of KS1. Have worked directly for Ofsted to work with schools in special measures. The last few years i have been teaching the Piano and the guitar privately.  I have achieved and experienced so many great roles as a teacher and have grown and changed so much in that time.

What about now?

Taking a moment to sit and reflect on the last 10 years has made me realise one thing......This week marks such an important aspect of my life, not only as a career but also as a something that I truly love to do. So what am I going to do to celebrate this?

This is quite easily the simplest question to answer....This week I will restart Williams home schooling for term two. This is the greatest adventure of all of my teaching career. I get to use every part of my training and experience to support my son. It might not be the greatest celebration but it is definitely a landmark in my career and i'm not only doing something that I love but doing it with someone I love.

What more could I ask for!

On that point of Home schooling; look out for the continuation of our Home schooling journey with posts this week!

Thanks! As you know, although incredibly stressful, teaching is such an awesome and rewarding job!
It's been such a varied career but looking at where I am now makes it even better!
