My Little Chef - Strawberry and Chocolate Cheescake

If you followed my previous posts you will know that William is a fantastic Chef. He really has a passion for it and is something that I am happy to support him through.

(He says slowly growing outwardly)

The time came again though where he's gone "Daddy, we haven't made Cheesecake for a while. Maybe we should"

(Seriously who would deny cheesecake and one that is being offered to be made for you?)

Most times William has these ideas I will always let him decide what he wants to do; this week he decided that we should make a Strawberry and Chocolate Cheesecake.

Ingredients:

  • 1x Packet of Chocolate Digestives
  • Butter
  • 300g Mascarpone Cream Cheese
  • 400g Thick  Cream
  • Gelatine leaves
  • Bag of Malteasers
  • Strawberries

William started by putting the 3/4 of a packet of Digestives into a bag to break up.
(He didn't want a thick biscuit base this time so used less biscuits but its your choice)

He asked Daddy to melt some butter to mix with the biscuits; this is to help set the biscuits in the tin whilst it is in the fridge.

He then weighed out the Mascarpone and Thick Cream and mixed together; whisk until thick and creamy. William wanted to use a hand held whisk to start so it didn't splash but then used an electric whisk.

William cut up 8 Strawberries (And snacked on a few in between, which, apparently, is a must!)
He the crushed up half of the Malteasers in a bag; mix these into the plain cream.

After taking the set biscuit base out of the fridge and pour the Cream, Strawberry and Malteaser mix on top; Spread the mixture as flat as possible.

Level the mixture out and decorate with the remaining Chocolates.

Leave the decorated Cheesecake in the fridge for four hours to set.

Take the Cheesecake out and remove the tin, eat and enjoy!!

William made this entirely himself and created the different combinations and ideas. He has an obsession with Malteasers at the moment; hence having two Cheesecake recipes featuring them!

(Apart from melting the butter and some assistance with pouring the different mixtures where Daddy helped)

I hope you enjoyed Williams latest instalment of  'My Little Chef'' let us know if you make this!!
Would love to know how you get on!

This looks utterly divine. I could eat the whole thing immediately actually. Very clever Little Chef! It reminds me of another cheesecake recipe - if you like lemons? Same base + equal quantities of double cream and condensed milk plus the juice of about 3 lemons (or more if you want it more lemony). Let it set for 3 hours.....total amazeballs.

I really do love the fact that he makes it himself, you've got one confident little man there with fantastic taste too :) Thanks so much for linking up to #SundaySweets

No problem love the linky and should do more so I can add to it. :)
I'd like to say he gets his flare from me but sadly not. I love discovering new recipes and cooking and baking and hence why I love him doing it. But his maternal grandfather is a professional successful chef (can't mention names) so think he's got his natural ability from him. It makes my life easier though. He just goes quite in the kitchen for a few hours and I let him get on with it. Then let James clean up.....I've got it easy really lol

This looks delicious! Cheesecake is one of my favourite things to make. My little girl only 2.5 though so not nearly as competent in the kitchen as William. Looking forwards to really cooking together when she's a bit older... Rather than just creating chaos! My first time at this linky #sundaysweets

I actually started with William around 2.5 only with peeling and letting him supervise. Start them young and you'll get them cooking for you in no time lol
