So if you saw yesterdays post you will know that we visited Wingham Wildlife Park last Tuesday. It was such a lovely day, perfect weather and started off as a great day out for us all.
I finished yesterdays post on us at the half way mark after having our Lunch and having a run around; after an hour of this we decided to venture back out and see the rest of the park:
Quick selfie before we go!
We walked through an enclose the had Butterflies but being out of season we there were only a couple there for us to enjoy but like most of the park we found some roaming birds joining in with the look round!
There was an island that were heavily inhabited by a variety of birds:
Three hours in I felt the pain of this Mummy duck and her trailing hoard!
Time for some big Cats! These beautiful creatures were happy enough to be sunbathing out side! A little disappointed though because they also had a Lynx, Jaguars and so Panthers but these were all sleeping and hiding away from us.
We, luckily, was walking past the Penguin section when the show and presentation was starting! I'll let you have a look at these lovely photos and will continue after them:
The Penguins were fantastic! We were told about how these are actually nesting and breeding; each penguin has a coloured tag in the wings to identify them. From each colour though the offspring were then tagged with matching colours so they could see the family line. The display was great and very educational; the boys especially enjoyed the feeding. The keeper was throwing fish at the Penguins but amusingly every time a fish was missed and ended up in the water the Penguins wouldn't go in after it! You would have thought that they were afraid to go for a swim. The younger Penguins seemed to be the ones closer to the keeper; they acted quite differently but interestingly, like most children, when they weren't getting their food or had to wait they were becoming impatient and pecking at the legs of the poor keeper.
Time to move on the Primates:
Such lovely looking animals; although they did look rather miserable!
"What do you mean get down? You keep telling me I'm a little Monkey and these Monkey's are climbing!"
James was very true in his above comments; these are my Monkeys, so it made sense to see how long my Monkeys arms were in comparison!
We only got to see the Owls because they were doing some work on the Falcon enclosure. The Boys were fascinated in the last two photos as the Owl had flown down and grabbed a chick that was placed their by the keepers but right in front of their eyes started to eat it!
Then we came full circle and it was time to go! All we had to do was get through the dreaded, over priced gift shop without any tantrums and it would have been the perfect day. Luckily we managed it; everything, as always, was highly over priced. Luckily though the boys were really good and realised, with a little explanation on Daddy's funds, that we couldn't really afford to spend a lot of money on some of the items there. Eventually the boys chose, quite happily on my part, some lovely drinks bottles with the parks logo on.
This day was exactly what I, and the boys, needed; as you all know it has been a rough few weeks, personally and with the Boys, so to have a day trip out with my phone only being used for photos, the weather being beautiful and the boys fully engaged was exactly the best thing. Happy Daddy and Happy Boys!
Ended yesterdays post with asking you guys to caption the photo so thought I would do the same with this one. This cheeky Peacock was following us around the entire time; the strangest thing was though that it was constantly on roof tops of any building and shelter that it could get too! So caption it for me please!

Love the penguin stuff.
Looks like a great day all round, I like zoos for educational purposes (although always worry for the animals welfare).
Thanks Ashley! The Penguin display was pretty awesome.
What a lovely day you guys had and sounds just what was needed :0)
Thanks. Yeah it was really lovely!
I love visiting a good wildlife park. They make the best days out and you were so fortunate with the weather. That selfie is brilliant. You all look really happy! Your boys looked like they had a lovely time and well done surviving the gift shop. I am afraid that I am always drawn in by all the soft and fluffy animals. Hugs Mrs H xxxx
They do don't they? We love them and more importantly the boys find it fascinating. We were incredibly lucky and made the day even better with the sun shinning.
The gift shop was as good as I could have hoped.the fluffy animals looked great but at £25 a go it was easy to avoid them! Mainly because I didn't have that amount of money on me. Lol. Although I did have enough for a cheeky McDonald's on the way home ;)
Lovely pictures. The penguins get my vote for the cutest.
Thanks Adam! The Penguins were hilarious and it was great learning lots about them.
Aaah what a lovely post Martyn! We took our boys to the zoo for the first time the other week and they LOVED it!! Especially the penguins! You all look like you had such a fab time — your boys will love to see these posts and memories you've created when they're older! Thanks so much for linking up with #TwinklyTuesday :)

Thanks for commenting! The boys absolutely loved the day just as much as I did. It's funny how little one enjoy seeing Penguins isn't it? Can never really go wrong with a zoo. Thank you, the whole point is that one day they would see this and see that we did all of these great things together. Thanks for hosting.
Yeah - more zoo pictures on #AnimalTales!! What a pity the peacock didn't show off his tail.
Typical of the cats to hide themselves! You can't order a cat around! My son's favourite at zoos is always the penguin show.
That looks like a lovely wildlife park! We love taking our toddler to wildlife parks and I know he'd love that one, especially the big cats! The giftshops are always a temptation, my husband is a soft touch with our son so he usually comes out with some kind of stuffed toy or plastic tat!!
Those penguins are fab! We only saw a couple today although it was very hot so they were probably quite rightly sheltering somewhere away from the sun! We had a peacock in our neighbours garden yesterday and last night it was trailing across the rooftops! I'm pants with captions so won't try and be funny!
i just love penguins, my favourite birds
Lol you can't go wrong with more zoo pics. :)
I know it was strange that he was always on roof tops.
Thanks for commenting Ness. Everyone loves Penguins. To be honest they were pretty funny!
It is a lovely day out. Boo! Think your hubby needs to be stricter lol I just couldn't do it. There were some lovely soft toys that I honestly might have considered if I had the money. Although in hindsight it would have far too much to spend.
Thanks for commenting Lisa. It's probably the strangest thing but for some reason the peacock looked strange on the roof tops. Obviously they fly but I honestly can't think why I didn't expect it on there!
Thanks for commenting! they were fab and great entertainment.
