Home School - Term 3 - Planning

I realise that even though I have done a few post on Home School that these were more based on the FAQ that most people have. I haven’t though posted anything about what we are doing.

(I know, I should have done but have been so busy!)

We are now on a new term and we have new Home school topics.

We are continuing following a formulated scheme within Literacy and Numeracy. (Both of which we are following Government guidelines through Collins resources)

Science                              Lifecycles

We’ve got some exciting things this term on this topic so hopefully you will see soon with this!

History                                 Romans

Now Romans is usually a topic that is introduced in Year 2 but we have so many places around us that I thought it would be quite easy to incorporate into a planned scheme. Following last terms topic of Castles I hope that this brings some more exciting adventures.

Geography                         Weather and Maps

In Geography I have looked over the plans and to be honest I can see how they can translate to classroom teaching but in the freedom of Home schooling I felt that they may be short so will do two topics. This is something exciting as well that I hope you will help us with; look out for our post on this.

Technology                        Cooking

I know that we do a lot of cooking already but I wanted to take this term at looking at more of menu/meal planning.

Art and Design                  Playgrounds

This topic is one that we usually find within Technology but from looking ta the plan it seemed more appropriate to undertake it as an art and design scheme.
