Review - Baker Days - Letterbox Cake

Who doesn’t like Cake?

With James turning 4 we were looking for a personalised cake for the occasion.
We were lucky to be contacted by Baker Days who have a large selection of cakes available.

I was specifically looking for a cake that would just be for James so after looking through the Baker day site I saw that they had Letter Box cake.
Yeah, that’s right! A cake that is posted to you and received through your letterbox!

We first received a little box that was well packaged and inside presented with a beautiful tin accompanied with balloons, candles and a whistle to add to the extra fun of the celebration.
I had them design it specifically to suite James Birthday but what you do see is that there are a large selection of designs to choose from on the website; ideal for anyone for any occasion.

Being a family that adore anything chocolate I chose a chocolate sponge for the centre.

The cake itself was absolutely beautiful and between the two boys and myself it really didn’t last long! The sponge itself was light and soft and with the added combination of the sweet icing it really was an ideal cake.

All of our family and friends who visited for James’ birthday were impressed with not only the concept but the design and taste of the cake; there actually ended up a bit of a debate as to what they would do with a Letter Box cake from who they would send one to and what design and occasion they would choose.

Understandably with it being a letter box cake you wouldn’t imagine that it is going to be large but at 5 inches it was adequate for me and the 2 boys. However, I can see the letter box cakes being fantastic for any occasion especially if you are looking for something leading up to Father’s Day.
