I'm going to #BML16

#BML16 is now only 2 days away and like most things I am a little late to the party with my "I'm going to" post where the run-up to the event, attendees usually write a personal introduction to help everyone get to know some of our fellow bloggers in advance.

So, here I am and I still have done it just in the nick of time

(I'm usually found pulling a silly face!)

Name: Martyn Kitney

Blog: Inside Martyn's Thoughts

Twitter ID: @mr_kitney

Height: 5’3” (and a half....that's important! And Yes, I am aware that I am short!)
How I look: Well I will be one of the few dads there so I am hoping that I will be spotted easily! Otherwise, I am the short geeky looking one amongst all of the dads. If that isn't enough you will notice the stylish pimp stick walking stick!

Is this your first blogging conference?: No. I attended the event last year which was my first event. It was great even if a little daunting!

What are you most looking forward to at #BML16?: I am mostly looking forward to catching up with all the people that I met last year and those, of course, that are also my online friends. There are so many that it will more than likely be a quick hi but hoping that I will get more time at the evening meal that I have organised.

What are you wearing?: Last year I had no idea! But this year I am lucky to wear an outfit from M&M that they have kindly given me which can be seen below. I will be wearing this on the Friday but I also have a great outfit from Burtons that consists of a blue chequered shirt and a white v neck t-shirt.

What do you hope to gain from #BML16?: Last year all the sessions were very informative and I learnt so much; many of which I have applied to this blog. I hope, therefore, to do the same.

Do you have any tips to pass on to others who haven’t been before?: I am sure that it will be quite daunting but don't worry! It will be amazing and everyone is always very helpful and kind. Remember that despite many of us going before that we will still be nervous.

Importantly, take your time, enjoy it and don't feel pressured to do every session and to speak to everyone. Take five minutes if you need too and rest!

I completely overdid it last year. It took around 4 days to recover and I am determined not to  have that happen this year! I will be bringing my wheelchair and making sure I cut the amount of walking down and within that resting if and when I need to; always good to take your own advice at times!

I will also make sure I ask for a bit of help if and when I need it. But despite having MD to deal with I think this is the advice that we all should take on!

Can't wait to see you all! Make sure you say hi if you get a chance!
