The Daddy Tag

So last month I was tagged by both Mummy here and there and Family Makes to take part in the Daddy Tag which is a challenge set up by fellow blogger The Frenchie Mummy.

So here I go!

Are you a Stay at Home Daddy or a Working Daddy?

Both. As part of our co-parenting I am lucky enough to be able to do both. When I have the boys I am a stay at home dad and when they are with their mum I work as a writer and music teacher.
Would you have it any other way?

No. I worked full time and missed out on lots when the boys mum and I were together. In some ways our split allowed me to be there first hand and get dirty in the trenches.
Do you co-change dirty nappies? Even the very smelly ones?

Yes. I probably didn’t do it as much as I should when we were together but, again, the split meant that I had to do it solo.
A little fairy gives you the possibility of breastfeeding? Are you going for it or do you run away?

I would definitely give it a go as I am a massive breastfeeding supporter but the thought of me doing it does seem a bit weird!
What is the one must-have item for a daddy?

Alcohol. No, I joke. (Although I am sure it helps!) I don’t know, maybe a radio and music? That seems to help in lots of situations.
How many kids do you plan on having?

Well as I am single and don’t see the next love of my life heading my way then I guess I’m sticking with 2! I would love another though!
Lads’ nights? How often do you have them?

I used to have them at least weekly. Now, maybe once every 6 months if, and that’s a big if, I am lucky!
Your children’s favourite achievement?

William’s is definitely his cooking and baking. James’ is more difficult as he hasn’t found anything yet but he keeps telling everyone how good he has got for putting his shoes on the correct feet, does that count?

What is your best memory with your kid(s)?
So far it is when we were all out at a zoo for the day. This man in his early to mid-20s was showing off to his friends and jumping around in front of us and then tripped over his bag. The 3 of us burst into laughter and James, very loudly, shouts “What an idiot” to which his friends started laughing for “being done by a child”. It was just the fact that we all laughed together instantly, showed unity between us.

Name one thing you miss since being a daddy?
Just one thing? Erm, sleep?

Weight gain, before pregnancy, during, after and now? And we mean YOU DADDY, not the mummy!
I was BIG during both pregnancies; probably weighed 11-12 stone and went up and down a lot before after and during but pretty stable. Now, I am tiny. It is the single dad look and weigh around 8 stone and look slim.

Dream holiday with your kids?

Sandy beaches and warm weather but it would need to be when they were older!
Dream holiday without your kids or even without the other half? (You’re allowed to dream)

A secluded cottage somewhere like Scotland with a great view, nice weather and a few good books.
How has your life changed since having kids?

It has changed massively! Less arrogant, more understanding, more tired and stressed but equally feel a lot happier. Oh and being Single! Never expected to be a single dad!
Finish the sentence “It makes my heart melt when…”

When they sit next to my and slowly find a way to cuddle up to me and to the point that they really squeeze in.

Favourite beers brands and football team?
Neither!

Huggies or Pampers?
Pampers.

Have you always wanted kids?
Yes, ever since I was about five or six when we did the “what you want to be when you’re grown up” mine was to a Dad.

Best part of being a dad?

They just make me better and more so than I could have ever imagined.

My turn to tag……

I will tag
