Disney on Ice presents Frozen

There was a time in my life when I would put a pair of skates on and be free.

As I hit the end of Junior school age my dad wanted me to invest in some sort of sport. We tried lots of different things at the time and it was all pretty much a failure. I was either too much of a wimp, uninterested or totally rubbish. That was until he tried to get me to play Ice Hockey.

I was pretty useless at the hockey part and hated every aspect; sport really wasn't my thing, but I could skate!

It seemed like a fair middle ground between us both if I could do something with my skating. I was just good at it but I never realised how good I was until I was scouted. Fast forward a couple of years I was in competitions and winning them and I loved every second. The moment the blade touched the ice I felt free, I could move and be off into my own little world.

That all, of course, came crashing down around me. Literally. Muscular dystrophy hit and that was my time on the ice over and done with. Even to this day, it is something that still pains my heart.

The thing is I can still enjoy other people doing it. I love watching the Olympics, I love seeing anything skating on TV like Dancing on Ice and I love seeing people move with passion.

With all of that in mind I grabbed at the chance when the iChildUK team asked if the boys and I wanted to go and watch Disney on Ice presents Frozen. Seriously, who would turn that down?

I had kept it secret from the boys and wanted to be a surprise. They had no idea what we were going to see but knew it would be great!

The O2 was amazing and we were lucky enough to get assistance through to our seats and allowed support half way through! Their assistance team was amazing and I would highly recommend any disabled person to contact and arrange support ahead of going!

Then it was time to watch!

Once the boys realised what was happening they suddenly went from confused to squealing with excitement! Like any child their age they had seen Frozen hundreds of times (Daddy sigh) so knew it inside and out.

We had amazing seats being in the front row so got to see all of the action. That said, I need a better camera than my phone as even then the photos are a bit poor (sorry!)

We were instantly there, in the magical Kingdom ready to share the fun. Within minutes the open bars of "Do you wanna build a snowman?" started and the boys were up off their seats singing away! I of course didn’t sing a long, whatever the boys may tell you ;)

We saw Elsa transform, leave Arendelle, create her castle and sing "Let it go".

As well as watch Anna meet Kristoff and my favourite Sven.

We then met Olaf and sung about the summer!

We loved the ice monster and how they made him grow!

The Trolls dance and sing and try and match Anna and Kristoff get married.

Then we finally say Elsa being locked up before she gets a chance to save Anna.

Then at the end all of the cast came out for a celebratory dance and sing and was even joined by some Disney favourites!

The show was amazing! The songs were fantastic and despite being as close as we were you couldn't see any miming which for me saved a lot of unwanted questions!

The costumes were brilliant and very well thought out. Even the Duke of Weselton had a flappy wig!

The whole event was filled with song, laughter, dancing and magic. So much so that the boys couldn't stop talking about it on the way home! It was also perfect for us to be introduced to Disney's Fit to Dance campaign!

As for me, there were moments, seconds of pure movement that took me back to my skating days as I watched these brilliant dancers show us adventure and emotion through brilliant dancing skill! Ultimately taking me into a magical world with the boys.

(I was given this for free to review in collaboration with Disney and iChilduk. My opinions are my own and I am under no obligations to give a positive review! Please see my full disclosure at the bottom of my blog)
