My Sunday Photo 10/09/17

This week we went for our almost back to school walk. It is something that I have started to do before each term; just the boys and I being outside but enjoying each others company before the hectic Home Ed life begins!

This time we took a long walk along Medway River and found two things that we weren't expecting!

The first was this Swan who was peacefully swimming by the edge. It sounds silly that we weren't expecting to see a swan swimming in a river but I suppose we don't tend to see too many of them unless they are in protected areas but was definitely a pleasant surprise!

The second surprise was seeing this tug boat!

It is sometimes so easy to get caught up in a technological age where everything seems so easily resolved that you forget some of the basics that are still needed.
We spent a while talking to one of the team and I was amazed to know that the tug boat society is still incredibly active and available to help. All the people involved had a love for what they were doing and it was great for the boys to see such a committed and bustling team!

Aw, nice! It's always lovely to go out and be surprised every now and then. Hope the boys are raring to go on their new Home Ed year.

I love Swans as you know. The tug boat is random but very cool, shame we missed it but glad the boys saw it with you xxx

The tug boat is very cool. We see a lot of swans at our local park, so I hadn't really considered that they're rare on a river.

Interesting, I guess there would still be a need for tugs on the Medway. It's quite large isn't it? See Martyn, you've opened my eyes to something I wasn't aware of!

That tug boat's brilliant! I always stop and take photos of swans when I see them too, they're too beautiful not to.

We used to live just near to dockside and often meet the tug boats and rarely swans, both lovely sights #MySundayPhoto
