My Little Chef - Chicken Fajita Pasta

It has been a while since we posted a "My Little Chef" post. That doesn't mean though that William hasn't been cooking and baking!

It is still his favourite past time and hobby and still his goal of a career ahead.

We thought that we would start back with a bit of a kick!
Ingredients

Chicken pieces
Mushrooms
1 Yellow Pepper
1 Red Pepper
1 Green Pepper
3 Onions
2 can of Chopped Tomatoes
Cheese
Pasta
Paprika
Cumin
Salt
Pepper
Chilli Powder
Garlic Powder

Resources
Cutting Board
Sharp Knife
Large Pan
  Frying Pan
Utensils

Method

Will started by cutting the mushrooms and peppers on a chopping board. He cut them both into thin strips.

He then cut the onions in half and sliced them into thin strips.

Will then placed the chicken pieces into a pan and lightly fried them.

He then placed all the vegetables into a large pan and mixed them up. With the heat on low William sauteed the vegetables until soft.

Will then added the cooked chicken pieces into the pan and stirred. He then added the spices.

He added 1 tsp of Chilli powder, 1 tsp of Cumin, 1 tsp of Garlic,1 tsp Salt and 1 tsp of Pepper. Finally, he then added 1 tbsp of Paprika.

He then mixed all the ingredients together on  low.

Will then added the 2 cans of chopped tomatoes and stirred them in.

He then left the ingredients in the pan on a low heat so the sauce could thicken and the spice mature.

Will then grated some cheese. The amount is usually up to you; he likes to put loads in!

Normally on this recipe he would put the cheese in the pan with the other ingredients and let it melt in the low heat. However, Hannah is dairy intolerant so Will will add this cheese and Hannah's dairy free cheese at the end.

Finally, Will measured out the pasta and placed the pan on boil.

With the pasta ready he mixed the pasta with the remaining ingredients. Will then added the cheese to melt within the heat of the other ingredients.

The heat of the spices in the dish is down to you if you want to increase. This recipe is quite mild. However, double the 1tsp spices and you can get it quite hot!

This recipe is also great if you use pork or use Quorn substitutes.

What do you think? Would you give this a go?
