My Sunday Photo 04/02/18

One of our Home Ed topics this term is investigating rivers. Living alongside the River Medway meant we could take advantage of a walk along it and take in some of its features.

I was lucky to grab a few photo's but these two stood out.

My Sunday Photo 10/12/17

This week had marked the start of our countdown towards Christmas and us getting into the chrostmas spirit more.

As we've done a lot I couldn't just choose one photo so instead have chosen my favourite three.

My Sunday Photo 03/12/17

Hannah, the boys and I were walking back from Rochester over the bridge upon the River Medway just as the sun was setting. It seemed rude to not capture it!

My Sunday Photo 12/11/17

Where we're not big on Halloween in this house we usually make an extra effort with Bonfire night and our family firework display.

Although I don't think I will ever be able to capture the best firework picture I did enjoy these two photos from the night.

The event wasn't bright and colourful on reflection as the pictures may suggest but I loved finding these on my phone and loving the amount and contrasting colours captured in that moment!

My Sunday Photo 05/11/17

I have always enjoyed drawing; for me it is something to let my stress and frustration out in a positive and creative way.

A couple of years ago I dedicated a few months to drawing and since then I haven't picked up my pencils.

Yet, recently I have been under a lot of stress juggling looking after Dad, taking him to his different therapies, parenting, work and home education. I needed something to escape into and once again thought I would draw.

My Sunday Photo 29/10/17

We've had a lot going on these last few weeks so I haven't even had time to post much.

That said, with Half Term week here we've taken a step back, relaxed and had some fun.

We've been lucky and visited 2 amazing places this week, can you guess where? ;)

My Sunday Photo 03/09/17

This week Hannah and I visited Truro Cathedral.

We had a great time exploring the architecture on the outside and in.

My Sunday Photo 27/08/17

3 months ago I shared a photo of our new snails. At the time, at their largest, they were only 3 inches long.

I thought I would share a little update!

They're now 6 inches maximum and with bigger shells. We love getting them out and allowing them to explore; in this instance Hannah had them both!

My Sunday Photo 06/08/17

We took advantage this week with one of the sunny days and went for a picnic at Rochester Castle gardens.

Although I've featured the area a few times sitting here, looking both at the castle and the cathedral, soaking up the atmosphere really made me appreciate the area we live in.

My Sunday Photo 30/07/17

As it's the Summer holidays and Hannah and I often feel the strain of the physical distance that our relationship currently has we decided that we would spend a few weeks together as one giant family.

Although we had both met each other's children a few times they hadn't met each other; which was of course a worry!

But, it seems to be going really well! I managed to get this lovely photo of the 4 of them laughing and playing in the park. 4 happy kids, yay!

My Sunday Photo 23/07/17

I always try and find the positives in being disabled. For me, there will always be some negative around it but finding a bit of fun in the middle of it all is something that keeps me going.

In some ways it saddens me that I don't have the ability to climb steps anymore; however, when I find little stairwells, like the one in the photo, surrounded by bright colours, trees and bushes it makes me wonder upon the mystery and magic of what's at the top! I'm sure it would be as amazing as it is inviting ;)

My Sunday Photo 16/07/17

Hannah and I took a little day trip over to Hever Castle yesterday!

It was the first time I've gone as an adult and loved it. Apart from the beautiful grounds we of course wanted to go inside the castle; however, we were stopped by 2 knights guarding the bridge.

Only to find a few minutes later that Henry VIII had come out to greet us!

My Sunday Photo 09/07/17

After last week's sunny seaside photo of a rather bold seagull we are now offering a stark contrast.

Not far from last week's beach is Reculver Castle. We had just spent a brief moment there until the weather changed and the clouds looked rather stormy.

Was amazing how quickly it turned!

My Sunday Photo 02/07/17

With some warmer and sunnier weather and more chances for the seaside we've come across a lot of seagulls. That said, they seem to be getting bigger and braver year on year.

This one pretty much walked straight up to us and then struck a pose!

My Sunday Photo 25/06/17

We visited a local Armed Forces Day event and among lots of amazing vehicles, both new and old, was this little war time Ambulance.

What really hit me was the fact that no one was near it. Crowds were forming for the the tanks and armoured vehicles to enjoy the fun and power and this had nothing. It just occurred to me that it is, even amongst the horrid events this year, easy to forget the men and women who are there risking their lives helping the injured.

My Sunday Photo 18/06/17

We visited a Dickens Festival locally and it was fully of different musicians, entertains and volunteers dressed up. Just like the Christmas event we came across a guy dressed as Fagin and the boys were quick to grab a photo!

I loved this one in particular because of the setting around the character. I loved the blue sky, the castle in the background and the greens coming through from the tree. That with the volunteers in the background waiting for the crowds to descend and just the smile on William's face just make it all perfect.

My Sunday Photo 11/06/17

There was a family birthday party at the weekend with a bouncy castle being put up in the garden. The sheer joy of being the first child to bounce before everyone turned up took over for William.

My Sunday Photo 04/06/17

We visited Chatham Maritime food and drink festival this week. Along the waterfront there were many people moored up enjoying the festivities and this narrow boat caught our eye!

We absolutely loved the little garden area on top! Looked absolutely perfect!

Another photo this week by William. He was taking pictures at James' birthday last week and caught these bubbles flying through the air.

My Sunday Photo 21/05/17

My Mum always dreamed of a beautiful garden but for many years my dad had the attitude "bugger the garden, I'm watching the football". On losing Mum dad has spent the last few years making sure that it is as pretty as she would have wanted and within that planting lots of different rose bushes.

With the mix of warm weather and plenty of rain the roses have all come out beautifully. These ones in particular are my favourite. I just love the colour of them!
