Out of the Mouth of Babes

I have had a couple of conversations this last week with the Boys that I thought definitely should be shared with all of you!

William:

(To give you a little context; we were sat watching Aristocats when a character, Roquefoot I believe, was talking)

William: "Daddy, why does he sound like Winnie the Pooh and the snake from The Jungle book?"

(OK Martyn, here's your options; do you shatter a young boys fantasy world and tell him they were all voiced by the late, great, Disney actor Sterling Holloway? Or, think of something very quick to please his happy young mind? I, as you'll see, went for the latter)

Me: "It's because they have the same accent mate, because they all come from the same country"

(Clever aye?!)

William: "What country is that?"
Me: "Disneyland"

(Phew, quick thinking problem averted)

William: "Can we go to Disneyland?"
Me: "Of course, one day"

(Maybe wasn't a clever as I thought as everyday since I've had "when are we going to Disneyland?")
James:
(A little context again; Sitting nicely about to leave a friends house, shoes are on and the next thing that happens one of James shoes hits William up the head! But to add to this his other shoe is also off and so are both of his socks)
Me: James why did you throw that shoe at Williams head?
James: "I didn't do it!"
Me: "Then who did?"
James: "My feet!"
Me: "Seriously, what?!"
James: "My feet took my socks off and were angry at Will so they threw the shoe at him!"
(You know that annoying moment when your child says something funny but you are still cross at him and yet your friends are trying their hardest to look away through laughing? Was difficult!)
We have had a few others this week but these were my favourites. :-)
Love the Boys to pieces but they do say some difficult but funny things; the cheeky little dears.
What funny things have your children said this week or recently? Would love to know!

Tell them Disneyland burned down! You could take the boys on a globe trotting mission and see the world for the price of a week at Disney!

Haha! I might just do that! What a great idea! I know it's so expensive. I'm just hoping they'll forget to be honest.

Good quick-thinking on your part and I think your son might be taking after you with his quick-thinking to blame the shoe hurling on his feet! tee hee. #ftmob

Aww, these are so funny! I love that your sons feet have a mind of their own and just removed the shoes and socks all by themselves! They do think of the funniest things don't they! So, when are you going to Disneyland? Haha! :)

Ha quick thinking on his part with blaming his feet.

I do love that your son's feet have emotions all of their own! Good luck with the ongoing Disneyland conversation :) #ftmob

That is one clever child, backing you into a trip to Disney like that ;). My twins feet and hands have emotions like that sometimes also we get a lot of trouble from our fictitious child "it wasn't me"! #ftmob

Lol, that was quick thinking over the Disney voices although does sound like it backfired a bit! Love that James's shoes and socks just removed themselves - definitely a hard moment to try and keep a straight face! Thanks for sharing with #ftmob :-)

Haha, I love these! Your son is very clever recognising that they are the same voices; I hadn't even noticed myself! #ftmob

Haha I worry that maybe my feet don't have emotions now ;)

Haha that horrible fictitious child cones in our house too lol.

I think it definitely backfired on me! Although I'm hoping he's young enough to forget ;)
Ha ikr! It was difficult especially as my friends were laughing behind the boys.

Ha I know. I'd noticed it years ago but actually felt relieved when he noticed lol although think it backfired a tad.

Quick thinking about disneyland! Oh dear, angry feet!! I am going to be terrible at laughing when I am not supposed to!

Martyn Kitney said...

Thanks Laura! I thought it was quite clever! Although definitely looks like it backfired a bit!

Thanks! That's the worst bit. There are definitely moments where I hold back from laughing but then it's only where I'm around other adults. Without them I lose patience quicker!
