The post was full of positive vibes of things that she liked or loved this last month; being the last month that I have just had I thought maybe a bit of positivity would do me some good so thought the best thing to do is write a similar post and link up!
So here are the 10 things that I have liked and loved this
last month:
1. Meeting Al and Tommy from The Dad Network:
It was a lovely day out and a great surprise for Al after
working hard the previous weekend on a Baby Show, especially as it was his
birthday! It was a little strange at first to actually be sitting there with
someone that you talk more with online than you ever have in real life. Ten
Kids were in the house too which was an experience but they were brilliantly looked
after by Al’s lovely wife Jen.
2. Going to Liverpool
This is going to be my second and third part of what I have
liked and loved this month; However, Liverpool it’s self is a place that I have
always wanted to go and visit. I can at least say now that I have. I had the
opportunity to meet a friend (Coming up on number 3) but I also had the
opportunity to drive around and take in a few bits.
3. Meeting Ally from Messedupmum
Ally is one of my best friends, as I am sure most of you
already know, she is such a great lass and I have always been thankful for our
friendship that came through blogging. It is great to know that there is this
fantastic community out there. Ally had been going through a rough patch physically
and was just getting over septic tonsillitis so we didn’t do a lot but that didn’t
matter. Meeting and spending time with her and her lovely son was awesome.
4. Solar Eclipse
I love my science! I remember the last solar eclipse and
remember being a teen and enjoying it; as an adult though it was just as great.
The weather was slightly cloudy which was a shame but I had managed to get some
of those special glasses to be able to see the different stages.
5. Blogging community
I, again, am sure you know that I have been going through a
rough patch but writing the posts that show me at my worst was difficult but in
doing so it brought a lot of people messaging and tweeting me to chat through
things and help out where they could; one blogger in particular has been
fantastic. It’s easy at times though to think you’re completely alone when you
are typing away behind a phone or laptop but to then get support and messages
really showed what the community is like.
6. I have my psychology assessment!
It’s taken over 2 and half years to get and a lot of
fighting; something recently that hasn’t helped my mind set. However, following
an appointment that I had this week they have confirmed that they have managed
to get me one. Not only this being great in itself but they also managed to get
me a cancellation appointment! So instead of waiting 12 weeks I only have to
wait 4!
7. Moving house
I moved in with my elderly father after my mother passed
away yet sadly he has on-set dementia and this has made living here extremely
difficult on me. The only way that he can fully get the help that he needs is
to be by himself and to be seen as not having a carer. This meant then that I had
to move out. I contacted the council to apply but for a strange but beneficial reason
they had an application from me still open from 3 years ago! So no need to
apply, wait or go through a long process. This also, potentially, means that I would
be housed quickly because I have been waiting for so long.
8. Drawing
Whenever I have trouble mentally drawing is something that I
tend to fall back into to help me focus on something positive that I can do. It
has been tough to get back into it this time but this last week I have spent 4
hours drawing and I hope that this continues through the next few weeks.
9. More work
This must sound like madness to a lot of people but I actually
got a couple of new pupils this week and all through word of mouth. This is
always good as it shows that the work that I do is creditable and that people
will recommend me as a good teacher.
10. Blogging stats
These last 6 months have seen my blog change and grow; the
statistics in themselves have been growing month on month. This last month was
incredible and I never believed that my blog would have ever had achieved it. I
hope that it at least maintains at a similar level.

Glad you are able to see all the positives from a tough month :)
Brilliant drawing by the way, one reason I took up photography was because I couldn't draw :)
Thanks Ashley. I liked the idea of the linky and of Stevies post so thought finding positives would be good
I love drawing when I'm up to it. It's something that ive always enjoyed.
Great post, Martyn! It had me reflecting on my positives from the month of March. Thanks for sharing yours!
Thanks for linking up Martyn! I love doing my ten things every month, as it makes me think back with a smile on the previous month! Is that seriously your drawing?! It's beautiful Martyn, and I have complete skill envy as even my stick people look a little drunk ;)
I'm really pleased they are finally looking like giving you some of the support you need, and hope you find a new home soon as well! It can't be easy with your Dad, and a lot of people wouldn't have given him the level of support that you do sadly, so you should be proud of that along with all the other reasons you should be proud of yourself including asking for asking for help in the first place!
Stevie
Thanks Mathew. It's definitely worth having a think and finding some positives where possible.
Thanks for hosting Stevie it has definitely made it nice to find some positives. Yes that's my drawing..love spending hours upon hours doing it. Definitely makes me feel good once I've completed it.
I love this post, I'm glad you found positives despite your month being crappy. and how awesome is that drawing?! Might have to commission you ;-) xx
Thanks Nat. It's good to find some positives. Thanks....have you not seen my drawing post?
Oh wow that picture youve drawn is just amazing. I can't believe the state of our mental health system that's an incredibly long time to wait, as o said before though I hope your appt time comes around soon for you. I've not been to Liverpool, I want to see the titanic museum I believe it's there? Living in cornwall and not driving leaves me very limited to adventure! Money wise that is, transport alone is my first hurdle! x
Thanks. I really do enjoy my drawing...when the picture is finished I love the feeling of completely achieving something. Liverpool was fantastic although I didn't do the tourist thing. But I'm definitely going to the next time I go. I can imagine financial and transport must make things quite limited.
I dunno if my comment will work or not but I'll try... It was ace meeting you. I'm just sorry I wasn't at my best. I didn't realise how much the tonsillitis was gonna take it out if me!! We'll defo arrange something again in the summer. Xx
It didn't matter that we didn't do much or that you weren't at your best. It was still great meeting you all. Definitely do something in the summer! Just don't get sick!! Lol ;)
Awesome drawing Martyn! Always wanted to be able to draw, my efforts are not great so I prefer photography.
Thanks! I know not everyone can draw it's just something that I can do. Photography is great! I'd love to do that but really gave no idea where to begin.
