Out of the Mouth of Babes #15

Following last week’s festive Out of the Mouth of Babes I thought I would give you some more festive conversations that the Boys have been having this week.

A Letter to Santa – Why can’t we negotiate?

(Image taken from Google)

Me: “Right, so we have to think carefully about what we ask Santa for. He is too busy to get us everything so think about a couple of presents”
William: “Well I think I know what I would like”
Me: “Okay, well let’s write your list”

After some time it was clear that James was still thinking.
Me: “James, have you thought of anything?”
James: “Yes. But I don’t want any presents but there is one thing”
Me: “What’s that then?”
James: “Well I would like Santa to come early”
Me: “I don’t think he can do that. He usually just comes on Christmas day”
James: “I know. But something needs to be done!”
Me: “About what?”
James: “Well he can’t come early and I don’t think I can be good for much longer! Why can’t we negotiate?”

What Big Brothers are for!
James was having difficulty opening up on of the doors to his chocolate calendar:

William: "I'll show you how to open the door and eat it. Then you know how to do it for tomorrow"
Nice try William but I don’t think so!

I think I’m ‘lergic’ to Gingerbread!
We, like many of you, have been doing a lot of making and baking running up to Christmas. One of our baking activities was making Gingerbread Men.
Once we had finished mixing, making and then baking our lovely Gingerbread Men were ready; but it appeared we had a problem!

William: “Daddy, these are yummy!”
Me: “I’m pleased you like them William. What do you think James?”

Every time James would take a bite he would wiggly and thrust his bottom.
James: “I like them Daddy”
Me: “Is that why you keep dancing whilst you eat them?”
James: “No, Daddy. I can’t help it. Every time I eat it I can’t stop jiggling!”
Me: “Wow, they must be special!”
James: “I wish I could stop! I think it’s because I’m ‘lergic’ to gingerbread!”

I love James asking about negotiating with Father Christmas because he can't be good for much longer - brilliant! William's attempt to eat his brother's advent calendar chocolate under the pretense of helping him made me laugh and I love how James is 'lergic to gingerbread because it makes him wriggle - so funny. Thanks for joining in with #ftmob again and hope you and your boys have a wonderful Christmas :-)
