Review - Prestige Round Casserole Tableware

The weather has been crazy these last few weeks and one thing seems to be true; winter is here.

There are many reasons why I equally hate and love winter but rather than getting into that debate today I thought I would concentrate on one of my favourite things: food!
With the weather being cold and windy there is nothing better than having the homely comforts of winter food to fill your hearts and stomachs!

This means, for us, that it is time for Stews, Casseroles, Pasta Bakes, Soup’s and Pie’s.
If you follow our Little Chef Series you would know that we have been making one of these each week at least.

We were incredibly excited then to have received a Prestige Blue round casserole dish.

The vintage style ceramic dish is great for family meals this time of year; would even make a great Christmas present for the Chef in the house.

The dish surface is non-porous which is ideal for great stain resistance, so it doesn't absorb moisture or odours. This in itself was fantastic; there is nothing that I hate more than cooking a family dinner and then dreading the washing up after to battle the tough stains.
The dish is also dishwasher safe which I can see is an added bonus for those who have one.

What you will find with Prestige is that they have combined a stylish vintage design with great practicality; something that makes family dinners look enticing and providing a worry free clean up.
We decide to use this dish with different family favourites; Beef Casserole and Shepherds Pies.

The casserole dish is 26cm x 13cm which is a great size for a family to open up and divide equally. For smaller families like mine then you might become a little concerned over food wastage or not using the space efficiently. However, the dish is able to fit into the freezer so you can happily freeze any leftovers. The added feature here is that it is also designed to be able to go straight from the freezer to oven. (The fact it can go in the freezer is a feature that I truly love).

I would recommend using Oven Gloves when touching the dish after it has been in the oven or microwave. I did find that it held the heat for a long time after and subsequently might be difficult to handle. The added feature here though is that the well designed lid means that your food will stay warm as you can cover it back up when you have finished serving

This winter we will be using this as often as possible to help share hearty food with friends and family.
