Review - Vets Kitchen

Hi Guys!
Don’t tell Martyn but I am back and taking over his Blog!
I promised you after last time that I would be back but he has been so busy recently that I haven’t had time to open his laptop without him seeing! He is currently off watching some superhero film so I thought I would take the moment and tell you what I have been up to!

I have noticed that the strange man who likes to drop off large boxes to our house often has a lot for Martyn and my brothers but not once has he delivered anything to me! How rude! And he wonders why I bark at him when he comes near us!
I then received a lovely email from a company called Vets Kitchen and asked if I could review some of their food. I was so pleased that I instantly said yes! At least I will get a delivery for a change!
Once it was dropped off and I said thank you to the man (although he seemed annoyed still I think he thought I was telling him to go away again. Doesn’t he know how to translate dog?) I couldn’t wait to get it open.
Vets Kitchen works very closely with the veterinary experts at their in-house practice. Together, they strive to develop some of the best high-quality natural and functional pet foods available to help your beloved four legged friends’ lead long, healthy and happy lives.
It is lovely to know that there are people out there finding new and improved ways to help nurture us furry family members rather than just turning out the processed food that I have been given before!
On receiving the 2 bags of food it became apparent that they took that extra effort in improving our diet as well as providing the best possible ingredients.
Each bag showed the aim of the company through explaining the ingredients and why they are beneficial for us.
This is then supported by a detailed ingredients list where you can see every individual item used and the high percentage as seen below; something that you wouldn’t normally find in many other brands.
“Fresh salmon (min 24%), potato (min 24%), salmon meal (min 15%), brown rice, sugar beet pulp, oats, salmon oil (3.7%), brewers yeast, poultry digest, chicken fat, pork digest, minerals, vitamins, dl-methionine, marigold flowers, carrot, apple, seaweed, nucleotides, fructooligosaccharides, mannanoligosaccharides, glucosamine, methylsulfonylmethane, chondroitin sulphat, yucca schidigera extract, mixed tocopherols, rosemary, l-carnitine and beta carotene”

I am not sure what the big words mean but I highlighted the ones that I loved!
Portion control is also available so you can see how much is suitable to the type of dog that you have. Previously Martyn just measured my food by eye but whilst using this he took the extra time to measure out each meal.
Admittedly, I have always been a little cheeky. I like to be one of the boys and if he can get away doing something then I would, especially climbing furniture and walls to investigate!
Over the 6 weeks I seemed to want to do this less and less.
I also started to want to follow everyone everywhere they went. This was quite a surprise as I often just do my own thing.

I do love it when I go out for walks but Martyn, as always, isn’t very happy with me!

Usually if he took me and took me off that horrible lead I rejoiced in the freedom and ran as far as I would and in protest of going back on the lead I often refused to come back! I also tried to protect him from some of the bigger dogs and tell them to leave him alone. Yet, he never seemed to like me doing that either.
Around the half way mark, as mentioned above, I noticed that I wanted to behave and listen to him more. This seemed to have a surprising impact on our walks!
The other one who looks a bit like Martyn decided to test this theory when he took my mate Oscar and I out and let me off of my lead.

I didn’t want to run away and in fact I played happily, behaved well with other dogs and returned instantly when called.
I also noticed that I wanted to rest more! I wasn’t obsessed with getting into trouble or barking at everything but instead enjoyed stretching out and relaxing.
Oh and I haven’t said how wonderful I feel about myself! My coat hasn’t looked this great in ages. It has remained soft and to top it off I am itching far less. This is usually when I needed a haircut! It definitely has helped with my confidence, maybe I will ask that girl Westie out that we see on our walks!
I have to say that I was a little unsure when I first saw it in my bowl but I knew that it was a better quality and should give it a go! It is delicious and I love it now! I have said to Martyn that he must buy it from now on.
Martyn is so happy with me now and I think it has something to do with this food. I seem happier, annoying him less and I have even given that delivery guy an occasional break! I might bark occasionally; I don’t want him becoming complacent.
I decided to give a 5 Paw recommendation for it.

• Digestion 5 Paws *****
• Coat quality 5 Paws *****
• Skin condition 5 Paws *****
• General temperament. *****
Now, it won’t be long until he is back so I best make myself a cuppa and relax!

Hopefully I will be back soon. In the meantime go and check Vets Kitchen out below!
