The Queens 90th Birthday Celebrations

After taking part and using the wonderful resources from iChild the boys and I were set for the celebrations that the weekend had to offer.

I love being part of our church as we always seem to have lots of family events and this weekend wasn't any different.

We started with a family and fun service and were even lucky enough to have the royal family join us! Something that the boys found really amusing!

With the service over we were invited to go to the hall to have a street party and celebrate in true fashion.

What I love the most is that we, as a community, go that extra length to put on the best event. It might have taken a while but it was great to see so many people putting in the effort of their free time to set everything up.

Once there and food was placed the fun could happen!

Because making as much noise as possible and blowing jazzy party horns into peoples faces are a must!

Food eaten and plenty of noise made we then had fun with games and biscuit making!

Musical Chairs

Dominoes and Jenga

Pass the Parcel

No idea what this was called but you had to put the wooden pucks into 4 slots labelled with points! Quite a few of us adults were competitive with this! I can 3rd but William won the child's one and actually had the highest score our of adults and children.

Then to finish with the Hokey Cokey

And for all of you who like to see my ugly mug in the picture we managed to get a couple of me. Oh and I am wearing this fabulous t-shirt made by Hokey Cokey Biz

Everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy the day and all the games and fun that was had. I personally love being part of a community that comes together, puts effort and time into something bigger and then takes it out to the local community.

It seems that events like this, including just "normal" street parties is a dying pastime but one that I would love to happen more regularly and have a startling come back. How often do we just sit, eat and fun with people locally to us.

As for the Queens 90th, well she looked like she had fun and thousands of people up and down the country did too. Was you one of them?
