I was pleased, therefore, when the lovely people over at Paladone sent over the Polychrome light!
The Polychrome light is a stylish and funky designed mood light that is shaped as a light bulb. The bulb structure is made from 16 transparent plastic fins shaped and placed upon a ridge chrome base.
However, once it is turned on it starts to project intersecting multi-coloured shadows onto the walls and surfaces around it. Initially you will find that the light will phase through a sequence of colours from its LED lighting display creating a vibrant and peaceful ambience in the room.
Getting started:
The light comes with a duelled but independent power source.
Primarily you can use the micro USB cable (which is included) that can be
plugged into the base of the light and to any duel connector. In this case I used an existing plug that I had available so it could stand alone. Alternatively, in the base, you can insert batteries for a wire free option.
To start the lights to phase and display you simply press
down on the top of the light; you will instantly see that the light will phase
through the different stages. You do also have the option to keep to a certain
light colour that suits your mood by simply pressing the light down again the
second time.
Once you have finished using the light you just need to
press the top for a third time and it will turn off.
Now my geeky gadget side instantly loves this! It suits any
room in my flat as it fits nicely in the “bachelor pad”/”boy’s man cave” theme.
However, I can see it suiting anyone of any age!
Both of the boys have seen, tested and tried using the light
with ease and with the easy manoeuvrability they have had it on in the evening
to create a relaxing ambience to go to sleep in.
Alternatively, if you are an adult and need something to create
a soothing atmosphere in the evening before bed then this works perfectly.
And, finally, I think it would make a fantastic gift for a
teenager, gadget geek or student heading to University to have!If you love the look and sound then I would highly recommend going to visit the Paladone Shop where the Polychrome Light is available to buy from £19.99.
