Home School - Painted Firework Picture

Following our series of working alongside iChild and making firework crafts in celebration of Bonfire night we decided to make some paint firework pictures!

As many of you know through following this blog or following us on social media that we have spent a couple of days creating different crafts and activities for Bonfire night and strangely, through different stations, people have been tagging me left, right and centre to try out a painted firework craft.

After a quick look on the iChild site we managed to find the one that everyone was asking for us to do!

So here is a quick guide in making a painted firework picture!

Resources

A variety of coloured paint
Scissors
Black card
Cardboard rolls (We used toilet rolls)
Plates

Method

The boys started off by going through the instruction sheet and understanding the different elements that is needed.

The boys started off by cutting long strips around the cardboard roll. Obviously the thinner the strips the more prints you can make.

William and James then poured 2 different colours onto a plate. William used yellow and white and James chose blue and red; both representing the colours used in the instructions.

Using one of the cardboard tubes dip them onto the paint. Don't worry if it isn't covering all of the different cut strips it will add to the effect!

They both then pressed the tube down onto the black card to create a print.

Once they had used one set of colours, as many times as they wanted, they swapped the cardboard rolls over to create different coloured fireworks.

Once they had completed a 4 colour, 2 rolls, set they then went on by producing different colours and mixing some of them up!

The boys loved trying these out and once again the easy to follow instructions made this bright and colourful craft come to life with ease!

The boys absolutely loved making these and actually completed them really quickly! They were also talking about different colour combinations and different ways that they could change the pattern so there is a lot of extension available here!

What do you think? Could you give this a try?

(I was given this product for free to review. My opinions are my own and I am under no obligations to give a positive review! Please see my full disclosure at the bottom of my blog)
