Living Arrows #24

Sometimes I take hundreds of photos of the boys and other times I barely take any. I decided that this year would be one where I try to capture a consistent about and document them more. It made sense then that I join in with Donna's linky, Living Arrows.

"Living Arrows is about celebrating childhood. The project originally took it’s name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

This week has been a really weird one here.

Both boys have seemed to be heading in different directions; which is both lovelu to see and quite difficult as a parent or at least for me it is.

Last week William and I attended the Pizza Express Fathers Day event. The event was based in London and after a long discussion with the boys mum it seemed sensible that I take just William. But what unfolded showed the very mature and wise head on such little shoulders.

I decided to take my wheelchair for both ease and safety and at the same time a good ideain busy London with an 8 year old. William pretty much took charge to look after me. He helped me with getting yhe chair in and out of the car, the chair and I on to the train, walked and pushed along with me to the event.

Once there he soon got into his own element and became my little chef again and loved learning and making pizza. Yet, throughout his maturity still shone. Once again he helped me home and made sure the entire way that he was checking I was alright.

During this week he also took on the role of safety inspector and camera man whilst I filmed a short video of me falling over for #WorldFSHDDay. All of the above has just left me asking where my little boy has vanished too.

James this week has seemed to do the complete opposite and wanted to embrace childhood at every moment.

The park has featured at his request quite a few times. With every effort to jump in head first and have some fun.

He has also been the one who was first to suggest that we got some ice pops and also wanted to make some "cocktails" where we put a bit of everything into a glass with some ice.

It has been lovely embracing that childish side of life but has been quite contrasting between the two. In some ways I almost want James to mature along with William at moments. Yet, in other ways I want to chuck William into the swing tyre and tell him not to worry about me and just to enjoy some life.

How has your week been?

I totally get this, they grow up too fast. But equally, I'm still up for a tyre swing given the opportunity, aren't you?? William does sound like a star for looking after you but I thought that was pretty much the deal all the time at your place. You bumble around like an idiot and he teaches you what ingredients go in quiche.

Aww! William is such lovely young man. It sounds like a great event. Perfect for your little chef. James's cocktails sound fab! He looks like he's having the best time.
