My Sunday Photo 04/02/18

One of our Home Ed topics this term is investigating rivers. Living alongside the River Medway meant we could take advantage of a walk along it and take in some of its features.

I was lucky to grab a few photo's but these two stood out.
This first photo was caught along the Strood side of the River where we found a submarine being repaired. I loved the blue skies and clouds but also the interest of the boys.

This second photo was taken just seconds after. I had asked the boys to turn and see how far away we were from Rochester castle and cathedral.

On taking the photo I realised how different the scene looked. The sky looked more dramatic, almost stormy, with the forced sunlight shining through.

I also loved the ripples along the water and how it looked like it could be a different time of day.

What do you think?

What boy wouldn't be fascinated by a submarine? Lovely captures

Love how different these two shots are. I love the way that the first one captures the boys being interested in something but the sun's rays coming through that stormy sky make the second one quite magical.

Beautiful pictures. I love the second one with the sunflare as well.

Lovely captures Martyn, the sky looks amazing in both but I really like the sunflare coming through the dark clouds on the second. What an amazing place, I bet the boys loved seeing the submarine. #mysundayphoto

Love how the sun hits the water on the second photo.

Hi Martyn, this is the best way to learn. Both photos look lovely. The top one looks like you are far away from town. A nice bit of sunflare you've managed to capture too!

Love how all the rays are coming down. I really would love some proper daylight like this!

Oh wow what fab photos and how amazing that they were taken so close together! I love the blue sky and fluffy clouds in the first one!

Those photos are gorgeous both for different reasons...
What a great way for the boys to learn. It beats learning out of textbooks x

Great photos, especially the second one. Not up to Hannah's usual standards though so I'm going to guess you took them yourself. Fascinating to see the sub!

I used to live by the seaside and loved being close to the water, now I do my best to find the nearest River. I don't know what it is that draws me to it but I find it so calming.
