My Little Chef - Spanish Sausage Pasta

We're at the end of our months food so we had to see what we could put together and fashion some kind of meal.

Will often finds this a challenge to rise to!

Subsequently, after having a good Google for recipes with different ingredients we came across this and thought we should give it a try!
Ingredients

Sausages
Onions
Mixed Peppers
Courgettes
Pasta
Chopped Tinned Tomatoes
Thyme
Basil
Salt
Pepper
Chilli Powder
Paprika
Garlic

Resources
Cutting Board
Sharp Knife
Saucepan
Frying Pan
Utensils

Method

Will started off by peeling and then dicing the onions into little chunks.

We were lucky to have peppers and courgettes prepped and placed in the freezer from the summer to add to the onions. The courgettes particularly were ones we grew ourselves.

Will then lightly sauteed the onions, peppers and courgettes in a frying pan.

Using a bowl Will measured out the pasta for everyone and placed it in a pan. Then he boiled the pasta until ready.

When the pasta was ready he drained the water. Lifting the frying pan with sauteed vegetables Will transferred them to the pan with pasta.

Will then added 2 tins of chopped tomatoes. (Well if we are going to be specific Will had 1 tin chopped and 1 tin of plum tomatoes of which he cut the latter into smaller pieces)

Will then added the sausages to a grill pan and grilled them until fully cooked. After taking them out from the grill he cut the sausages into smaller pieces and added them to the pasta and vegetables.

Finally, Will added 2 tablespoons of Paprika, 1/2 tablespoon of Chilli Powder, a teaspoon of Garlic and a pinch of Salt and Pepper and stirred the spices into the mix.

He made sure to stir the pan fully and get the spices to blend

To finish Will added a sprinkle of Thyme and Basil.

For a meal that was rustled up out of items we had left in the cupboards and freezer the dinner was a success.

The combination of the spices and herbs gave it a little extra taste that made it different from other pasta dishes we've made before.

So what do you think? Will you be adding this to your meal plan this week?
