Review - Old El Paso

Mexican is always a favourite in our house; to be honest anything that comes in a wrap goes down well!

We were pleased then when we were sent an array of items to try from Old El Paso

We started off with their Stand and Stuff soft Taco kit.

Each box contained 8 taco "boats", Taco Salsa and a seasoning mix.

We have a mixed of degrees of heat when cooking so I usually separate the food and make individually. However, the Garlic and Paprika mix was fairly mild and we all enjoyed eating it comfortably.

The soft Taco boats are cleverly designed with a flat bottom which made it easy to pack food in and still be able to hold and eat without spilling the food.

We were also a sent a range of sauces as well as Jalapenos. (Saving the Jalapenos for myself to add the extra heat to the meal)

We filled ours with Mince, tomatoes and onions.

The boys loved using these and found them easy to handle and fun to eat. They are small in size which I worried about to start but they surprised me by being the perfect portion for us all as a family.

The mixtures of sauces from Sour Cream, Guacamole and Salsa made it fun for all of us to try and make each boat unique. Each sauce had its own benefits and created a balanced tasting meal.

Later in the week we tried their Smokey BBQ Fajitas.

We cooked the Chicken in the seasoning mix and has Peppers, Mushrooms and onions. The BBQ mix was a delicious seasoning to cook with and I was surprised how it added a balanced flavour rather than over powering the meal.

The Boys, once again, filled their Fajitas with their desired sauces that they felt best suited their wrap.

My only downside was the size of the wraps, as you can see having small children made handling the wraps difficult; especially when you compare the easy to handle Taco boats previously.

Old El Paso range is produced with the idea of creating meals that are quick and easy for week days when time, like most parents, is precious. Having a hectic life with my Two I definitely found cooking and preparing these as quick and easy.

The products are packed with flavour but equally balance themselves out not overpowering each other.

Both the Taco stand and stuff and the wraps were quick to prepare by placing them in the microwave on a microwaveable plate, on full power, for 30 seconds.

With these products we will definitely be keeping Mexican as one of our favourite go to meals.
