My Garden Wishlist

With the weather now getting warmer and the season changing to spring both the boys and I are keen to be getting out in the garden.
Last year we spent some time trying to clear all the brambles, weeds and over-growth that had happened before we moved in. It was clean and tidy and by the end of the summer I was happy with it.

We managed to decorate it with some different features that made it an environment to relax in the evening.
During autumn the boys and I had several projects where we created a stained glass leaf window with some of the leaves we found in the garden at our local park. We also decided to create our very own mini beast hotel and hoped that we would have a little place for many mini creatures.

So, what next?
Well we have already dug out all our bedding and pots and have already planted our fruit and veg (post coming soon) which the boys and I our keen to see how they grow and change. However, there must be more!

I’ve decided that alongside the planting and growing that we will make a larger effort to make it a true family garden that also suits our Home Ed lifestyle.
With this is mind I have been looking at different sites for different things to improve it; so far I have found some great home and leisure items from The Works. Here’s what I would love:

1. A Decorative Hedgehog house

We do get the odd Hedgehog in our garden and I love them. My thinking is that if we have a hedgehog house we might tempt more of them in; it’s also super cute!

2. A Wooden Bird house
If you have followed our home ed journey you will know that we are big fans of bringing birds into our garden as we always take part in the big garden bird watch. A bird house was something that the boys desperately wanted but sadly, at the time, couldn’t get one.

3. Grow your own Strawberries
With us growing fruit and veg there is something that we are missing; our strawberry plant. For the last 4 years we have grown our own and loved it but it is something that we haven’t got yet!

4. Double sided Heart Clock
With all the different features added I did want to include something decorative. I have wanted a clock for outside for a while; I also liked the hanging kind and just give that extra touch when sitting enjoying the environment. This would also work well with our telling time topic in  home school.

5. Butterfly Tea light holder
Although we have our own set of lights to decorate these are mostly for the fence and wall rather than the garden. I have thought that if I added these tea lights around the boarders it would give that extra lighting to the hard work we have put in.

I am sure that I could spend a lot more time finding different things that I would want but for now there will do.

What would you have to improve your garden? Always appreciate your ideas!
